In the heart of Scandinavia, where the northern-most tip of the Danish peninsula known as Jutland bends East and breaks the surging waters of the Kattegat and Skagerak seas, lies a small and picturesque fishing village. Its name is Skagen – the Skaw – and for connoisseurs of Northern Europe it is associated with a unique charm that is the result of the fusion of nature-given and man-made romanticism. At Skagen the elements can rage and reduce mankind to mere extras in a veritable power struggle between the sky and the sea. Here, time stands still, all sounds vanish, and nature is so compellingly beautiful that it takes your breath away. Here the perfect purity and beauty explain where Danish design found its unique qualities, and where the international company Skagen Designs found its name. In 1989, Henrik and Charlotte Jorst came to the United States from their native Denmark to follow a dream: that of owning and running their own business, to introduce the Danish lifestyle and philosophy into the lives of many. Skagen Designs was founded by these two natives of Copenhagen on the principle that beautifully designed high-quality objects can be created at reasonable prices. The Skagen Denmark Collections reflect owners Charlotte and Henrik Jorst’s creative Danish spirit with clean, elegant designs, skillful craftsmanship and technical perfection. The Jorsts have a hand in designing each piece of the Skagen Collection, from watches to jewelry to sunglasses. Our mission is to create a global community of enthusiasts with our commitment to designing an impressive and unique yet attainable product.

Got this watch as a dress watch based on my wife’s recommendation. I have worn Casio G shock watches for the past 20+ years and had no reason for a nice watch. Now I need one and wanted something plain. This watch fit the bill. Light, thin, comfortable and the classic, simple look I wanted.

The watch arrived from Amazon with a dead battery. Luckily, Amazon includes that wonderful note with the watch that tells you your brand new watch might show up with a dead battery and that this can easily be solved by replacing the dead battery. Huh? Good thing my car didn’t come with a note like that.

The other issues is the band. It looked a lot nicer in the pictures. Although it is leather, it looks like plastic.

This is a great casual watch. Unless you can find a nicer band, it isn’t very dressy.

I have purchased three Skagen watches including 2 of these leather watches and one Chronograph. All three have broken crystals within the first month. The chronograph shattered when I set it down. It was not even dropped. The style of these watches is the reason I purchased them but I should have know that you give up quality for a low price. I now have one working watch out of the three. Look somewhere else.

I have owned a similar Skagen watch for four years or so. Like other comments, the crystal cracked after less than a month, but I had it replaced at a watch repair place and never had a problem again. This watch looks and feels great, but there were two problems with the watch I owned. First, the watch band is only replaceable by ordering from Skagen directly for about $35. I’ve always gone to Target or Wal Mart to buy new leather watchbands, but this style is very unusual, and what is really annoying is that you can’t get it from a Skagen retailer or find a knockoff anywhere. I replaced the band about two years ago by printing out and mailing back an order form to Skagen–no Internet ordering. What a pain! Next, the watch stopped every month or so. At first, I thought it was the battery, but my watch repair place said the battery was fine. By pulling out and pushing back in the stem, the darn thing would start again and be fine for another month.

This month, both the watchband and battery needed to be replaced, so I tossed it in the trash and am looking for a similar watch in another brand. I love how the Skagens look, but I’m very disheartened about their reliability.

well i like how it looks and it attracts a lot of attention but .. in less than a week it started to get scratches in the platinum case and the glass too .. i have other watches that have been with me for years and none have got any scratches near to the ones this watch got .. the watch is not scratch resistive at all .. which really disappointed me.. but other than the scrath situation .. its a really nice watch

This was a great Christmas gift. All the guys in our extended family get a Skagen once they are considered in. :) ). It is just beautiful, works great, my daughter’s boyfriend loved it. We will always be a Skagen family. If you want a simply beautiful, classy, and very expensive looking watch at a reasonable price, look no further than Skagen.
